Moka pot brewing at home made easy

Today I noticed Stumptown’s brewing guides section on their website. How cool! They have photo-driven brewing guides for press pots, Chemex, moka pots, vacuum brewers, Melitta pourover drippers, espresso and Cafe Solo brewing.

All-analog, hand-brewed coffee

The Oregonian posted a solid piece last week about pourover coffee brewing, referring to it as “all-analog” and “hand-brewed”, talking through the ins and out of pourovers, why you would take the time to have hand-poured drip coffee, and even providing a how-to video and hardware purchase recommendations.

Video and review of the Coffee Catcher for your French press

After my recent post about the Coffee Catcher, a kitchen gadget designed to speed up your cleaning of your French press coffee press pot, the people from Kaffeologie, who make the Coffee Catcher, contacted me to see if I wanted to try one out.  Since I’m an avid French press brewer, and I’m always up […]

Let the Coffee Catcher help you with French press cleanup

On weekends when I brew my own coffee at home, I usually use a French press.  As you may know, French presses are great for brewing a good cup of coffee, but they’re a little bit of a pain to clean up.  When you’re done with the brewing, you have a clump of grounds smashed […]

Our second 417Coffee Disloyalty Card giveaway, courtesy of PT’s Coffee

We launched the 417Coffee Disloyalty Card back in early June, and admittedly it’s taken some time for people to make the rounds.  There’s 8 shops involved, and 2 of them particularly are hard to get to — one because it’s outside Springfield and one because it’s on a college campus and has been running summer […]

And the winner of the Red Rooster coffee grinder is…

It’s giveaway time.  We launched the 417Coffee Disloyalty Card back in June, and a couple weeks ago, we announced that the generous people at Red Rooster Trading Company had offered up a Camano Coffee Mill bundle to be given away to one of the first 10 people to complete the Disloyalty Card and turn it […]
