Peet's Coffee & Tea

Our second 417Coffee Disloyalty Card giveaway, courtesy of PT’s Coffee

We launched the 417Coffee Disloyalty Card back in early June, and admittedly it’s taken some time for people to make the rounds.  There’s 8 shops involved, and 2 of them particularly are hard to get to — one because it’s outside Springfield and one because it’s on a college campus and has been running summer hours.

On the good news front, Kaldi’s Coffee in the Plaster Student Union on the Missouri State University campus is now back to its regular hours, which means they’re open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays.  On the bad news front, the students are back, so you’ll have to fight for parking again.   During the summer, it was a tradeoff because you had great parking options but you had to get there during their limited morning hours.  We never said this was going to be easy!

But, if you’re dedicated to your 417Coffee Disloyalty Card cause, we have another prize package for you.  We’ve been in contact with our friends at PT’s Coffee, award winning coffee roaster based in Topeka, Kansas, and we asked them if they’d be willing to provide a prize of some coffee hardware.  Graciously, they’ve offered the following for the next prize package:  a Hario package, consisting of a Hario #2 ceramic pourover coffee dripper, a package of 40 Hario #2 paper filters, and a Hario Mini Mill Slim Hand Coffee Grinder. Wow!  Provide the hot water and coffee of your choice, and they’re providing all the hardware you need — a $55 value — to make great coffee at home or at work.

This second giveaway will be offered to the first 25 people to complete and turn in their 417Coffee Disloyalty Cards.  We have 10 entries already, and we need 15 more.  Yes, the entries from the first giveaway — meaning, the first 10 people who turned in their Disloyalty Cards — will be included in this second giveaway.  We’ll exclude the winner of the first giveaway (sorry, Sara!).  But besides that, when we have a total of 25 completed cards, all those names will be considered as entries and we’ll have a random drawing to choose a winner of this Hario package from PT’s Coffee.

And let me point out — it’s perfectly fine if you complete a second or third card.  So, for example, Sara, the winner of our first contest, can complete a second card and get another entry in this contest.  Or if you’ve already completed one card, you can complete a second for extra entries in the contest.

I want to give a big “Thanks” to PT’s Coffee for stepping in and offering this Hario prize package for this contest.  We have three different shops in the Springfield area that brew PT’s Coffee — The Coffee Ethic, Dancing Mule Coffee, and Hebrews Coffee — and they’re three of the better shops in the area.  So if you want to try out the coffee roasted by PT’s Coffee, visit any of these shops of you can buy their coffee directly via the PT’s Coffee website.
